Whether it was a sunny holiday or rainy staycation, the summer break is officially over, and the time has come for children and young people to head back to school for a new academic year, refreshed and ready for a new year of learning.

The team at our charity partner programme Inspiring Governance have been working hard over the summer holiday and are delighted to have surpassed 7,500 successful appointments of brilliant volunteers into school governor roles across England. Could you help them reach the magic 10,000 appointments?

Have you ever considered volunteering as a governor? Would you like to hear from a current school governor to hear what it’s really like? Join Inspiring Governance for an online session on Wednesday 27th September, 12.15-13.00 to hear volunteers discuss their own positive experiences of being school governors themselves, what they are able to offer their school and what they have gained from their experiences, as well as learn more about what’s involved in the role.

Perhaps 2023 is the year that you go Back to School to make a difference to children and young people in your community – help Inspiring Governance reach their next volunteer governor milestone by finding out more about the role and signing up to get involved.
