We are seeking a Grants Director to bring financial management, innovation and continuous improvement to our entire financial operations. A large part of this role will be to ensure a proactive approach to identifying funding opportunities working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to develop our finance strategies for both restricted and unrestricted funding.  The Grants Director will establish and lead a new grant-making framework for the charity and provide Trustees with oversight on grant applications, and funder reporting requirements bringing best-practice approach to the way partnerships with funders are managed and maintained.

You’ll play a critical role in supporting the financial development of our entire organisation. You’ll have unique access to the organisation at all levels and be tasked with understanding what makes us tick. You’ll brainstorm with the most senior leaders at the organisation and have the chance to influence at a strategic level.

You’ll act as a thought partner to the Chief Executive Officer and support the development of financial strategic priorities for the charity. This will include leading on financial planning, business planning, supporting cross-divisional alignment and ensuring robust performance metrics are in place. 

You’ll support the team to achieve against its business strategies, including helping with workshops, producing financial policy briefings and dissemination of financial reports. The role will provide you with the opportunity to gain a good insight into working in an international charity, and give you leading-edge information on humanitarian response, good business and regulatory practice supporting financial inclusion in developing countries.

Ideally, you will be a financial leader within a business or not-for-profit sector in a relevant discipline, with knowledge of conflict, fragility, and humanitarian response, or a focus on financial inclusion and economic empowerment. You will have a strong grasp of financial issues for international charities as well as significant financial planning, reporting and an ability to manage relationships with High Net Worth Individual Donors.
