Trustee with finance experience
What we do
People’s Health Trust is a charity addressing health inequalities in England, Scotland and Wales. We work to ensure that where you live does not unfairly reduce the length of your life, or the quality of your health.
Our work focuses on:
- Funding and support for communities
- Using our evidence and learning to influence change locally and nationally
- Working with our networks of funded partners to offer support, shape our programmes and policy, and ensure their voices are well-represented with decision-makers.
The Trust’s work is centred around supporting local people to help make change happen; We work in partnership with local people and we don’t ‘do’ to them. We support them to create the changes they feel are needed to make their neighbourhoods even better places to grow, live, work and age.
We are looking to recruit a Trustee to join our Board and support its work on overseeing the finances of the Trust. The ideal candidate will have strong governance and finance skills and experience, with particular knowledge and experience of finance and governance at a senior level in a charity or business environment and an interest in social justice.
Trustees meet for four three-hour Board meetings per year plus an away day.
In addition, this role requires the holder to join the Finance, Audit and Operations Committee, which meets three times per year (both sets of meetings are held during weekday working hours).
Our Board is not fully representative of Black, Asian or minority ethnic communities or disabled people and we would welcome hearing from you if you identify as a member of one or more of these groups.
We are committed to being a Disability Confident Employer and welcome applications from people from Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, people from lower socio-economic backgrounds and other marginalised groups.
The closing date for applications: Monday 30 May 2022.
Interview date: TBC.
