Millfield is one of the largest independent co-educational boarding schools in the UK and is seeking to appoint a Governor to its Governing Body to act as Chair of the Building & Finance Committee on the retirement of the current post-holder. Governors are responsible for the strategic direction of the school and act as company directors and charity trustees.   Applicants will have substantial commercial finance experience obtained from a senior finance role and will ideally be a qualified accountant.  They must be able to demonstrate successful leadership experience in their field and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, energy and intellect.

Millfield is seeking to improve the diversity of its Governing Body and would particularly welcome applicants who are under- represented by reason of their disability, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.  The school is a registered charity and the position is unremunerated but expenses are paid.  The time commitment is approximately ten to fifteen days per annum.

Application is by provision of a CV and covering letter to recruitment@millfieldschool.com by 10 June 2022.  An informal confidential discussion can be arranged by contacting the Clerk to Governors at Summerhayes.r@millfieldschool.com.  Applications will be considered by the Appointments Committee.

Millfield is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.  All staff and volunteers are subject to a DBS check.
