The Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York is looking for an Assistant Director of Finance/Trustee.
The finance function, shared by the finance team, includes the processing of suppliers’ invoices, dealing with charges to hirers, producing management reports for the theatre board, reconciling bank accounts with the Xero accounting and our box office ticketing systems, and keeping track of front-of-house sales of refreshments. Qualification by experience and/or accounting qualification is desirable.
All trustees are voluntary. You will need time to undertake the activities required within the role usually around 20 hours per month and attend the monthly trustee meeting (usually held on a Monday evening). In addition, alongside all other trustees, you will share duty management duties at the theatre on show nights, up to four per month.
The theatre’s vision is to be an inspiring community hub for performing arts and other entertainment and occupies a unique, well-equipped Art Deco building, dating from 1935. Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae and/or a paragraph or two on why they might be suited for the role.
