SUBU is an independent charity, representing around 17,000 Bournemouth University students, and exists to be the voice of students.

SUBU is democratically led by four elected Sabbatical Officers and supported by a talented team of staff and volunteers who work to make the student experience as great as possible.

Whether that it is through our clubs and societies, our commercial venues or by providing advice and representation, we are here for all students to help them get the most from their university experience.

We are currently undertaking a transformational change programme across all aspects of the charity and seeking two Lay Trustees to join our Trustee Board as we strive to evolve.

This is an exciting time to join SUBU as a trustee - we have recently launched a new strategic plan and are looking for external expertise to help us achieve our strategic objectives.

You’ll also gain experience of sitting on the board of a multi-million pound charity with a commercial subsidiary and play a key role in the future strategic direction.

In this application round, we are seeking Trustees with skills in one or more of the following areas; business, finance, charity management, sustainability and equality diversity and inclusion.

The right candidate will have an innovative mindset and be able to help us drive organisational improvements for the benefits of all students.

We would like to encourage anyone who feels that they could bring something to our board to apply and welcome first time Trustees too.

We will provide training and guidance to help all of our Trustees to succeed.

Trustees are expected to attend up to five board meetings a year of around 2 hours each.

We are especially welcoming applications from candidates from Black, Asian and other ethnic communities currently underrepresented in positions of leadership.

Closing date: 9 a.m. Monday 11th July 2022
