Wolverhampton Youth Zone (named The Way by local young people), opened in January 2016. Youth Zones are for young people aged 8 to 19, and up to age 25 if they have a disability. The Way is part of the growing OnSide Network of 14 Youth Zones across the country, with The Way being the only centre in the Midlands.
We are a youth work charity providing an incredible range of activities from football to mindfulness, dancing to cooking in a safe, state-of-the-art space designed with young people in mind.
The Key responsibilities of this role are:
- To monitor the financial standing of the organisation and report to the Board regarding cash flow, forecasting, income streams, outgoing expenses and the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources Oversee the organisation’s financial risk management process and provide regular and accurate reports to the Board of Trustees Act as a counter signatory for financial transactions including applications to funders To ensure annual accounts are submitted to all relevant regulators in the required timeframe Liaising with external auditors and financial professionals
What are we looking for?
Ideally we are looking for a finance professional who brings a knowledge of charity finance. However, we will consider an individual who is passionate and has a willingness to learn. Clear communication is a key part of this role.
