Woodard Academies Trust seeks two new Trustees (Non-Executive Directors)

Are you passionate about education?  Would you like to use your leadership skills to help young people reach their full potential?  If so, the Woodard Academies Trust would love to hear from you.

We’re seeking two new trustees with specific skills – one a senior estates professional and one a senior finance professional – to further strengthen our Board and support the continuing improvement of the Trust.  This is a voluntary role.

The Woodard Academies Trust was established in 2007 as part of the Woodard Group of schools, which was founded by Canon Nathaniel Woodard in 1848.  Our Trust comprises six state-funded academies across England, from the North East to the south coast.

This is an exciting time for the Trust as it has been successfully pursuing its vision: opening minds, raising expectations, transforming lives.  Five of the six schools are now rated as Good by Ofsted, up from just two in 2020; staff engagement is strong; and pupil number rose 4% last year.

We are looking for senior leaders with specialist experience in estates and buildings or finance.  They will support the Trust’s growth plans with new buildings at our popular, expanding academy in Lancing, West Sussex.  We expect more schools to join the Trust to benefit from being part of a strong multi-academy trust.

This is a stimulating and rewarding opportunity to use your expertise to drive the strategic direction of the Trust, benefiting pupils, staff and families in the communities we serve.  In addition to specialist skills, candidates should have strong strategic leadership, governance, management and communication skills.

If you feel that you could fulfil the trustee role, then please take a look at the recruitment pack for more details on how to apply: https://www.woodardacademies.co.uk/770/trustees-1
