About Rekindle Home

Rekindle was started in Newtown, Powys in 1997 by a group of people who had all experienced mental health problems within their own families. The aim was to give relief to those suffering from mental illness with therapy and targeted activities.

We help young people aged 16 to 25 throughout the area. Rekindle is all about recovery, the recovery of mental health, the recovery of opportunity and the recovery of a fulfilled life.

The Treasurer ensures that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and reports to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. The Treasurer will oversee and lead on our plans to set up a robust system for forecasting with a view to diversifying income.

Ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board. Experience of business planning. Willingness and ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as trustees and to act in the best interests of the organisation. A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. Commitment to Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity,
accountability, openness, honesty and leadership. Enthusiasm for our vision: the full recovery of mental health through early intervention,

What difference will you make?

Rekindle Home is a small charity with a big impact. The service we offer is unique and in high demand. It is an exciting time to join the board as we have recently formulated a 5 year plan and our new Trustees will have the opportunity to use their area of expertise to strategise this.  Joining Rekindle’s board at this crucial time will give you the opportunity to play a huge role in shaping the future of the charity.
