Independent Examiner of Charity accounts required to support the Friends of Matthew Rusike Children’s Home.

The charity (FoMRCH) provides financial support to the Matthew Rusike Children’s Home in Harare, Zimbabwe, a non-government institution which cares for around 100 orphaned and vulnerable children and also has an extensive community based outreach program.

Previous experience of providing Independent Examiner (IE) services would be an advantage but is not essential. An understanding of the responsibilities of an IE can be found on GOV.UK by searching ‘Independent Examination of Charity Accounts: Examiners (CC32). It is also important to understand the key governance and reporting requirements that are specific to charities.

The Treasurer and accounting records are located in South Devon and being located in the South West would be ideal, but not essential. The Treasurer is willing to travel within the South West region (including Cornwall, Devon, Dorset) to some extent to facilitate the annual examination, but it is also possible to conduct the examination entirely on a remote basis.

First examination will be required for the 2022 accounts (calendar year accounting).

Please email the Treasurer ( for more information about the charity or the role.
