Friends of the Family is a small independent charity, working with children and families in Winchester who are facing multiple disadvantages. We offer practical support and guidance enabling them to help themselves overcome the challenges they face and improve their life chances.

Our approach is based on getting involved early in the life of a family that is experiencing difficulties to improve their outlook. This unique support is delivered through three areas of work, a service supporting Mum’s and Young Children, a Befriending Service for children aged between 5 and 13 years old and a Dads Support Group. Our services are led by experienced professionals and underpinned by a counselling service that offers individuals complementary support.

The Role

We are at an exciting stage of the charity’s development and are looking for a trustee with a background in accounting/ financial management to oversee the financial health of the charity and provide strategic advice to ensure the charity's financial wellbeing.

You will guide the development of our work through the oversight of the day to day finances, along with managing the preparation of the annual report and accounts. You will monitor the financial health of the charity, ensuring funders commitments are honoured and share broader responsibility for good governance with the wider board.

You will have extensive professional experience of financial management and planning. Knowledge of the current charitable SOPR, and experience working with a small to medium sized charity would all be helpful.

If you would like to find out more or to arrange an informal chat with our Chair of Trustees, please reach out to our friendly team on admin@fottwinchester.org who will be happy to arrange this.

Applications close at midnight on Friday 30th September and a full job description and details on how to apply can be found on our website: www.fotfwinchester.org/vacancies.
