Liverpool Meeting Centre Partners are a group of volunteers and stakeholders who have ambitious plans to develop and deliver Meeting Centres for people living with Dementia across Liverpool.
Meeting Centres are for people affected by mild to moderate dementia and their families. Based at local community venues social club activities are offered along with assistance for family carers to cope with practical and emotional issues. Some family members may use the opportunity to have a break from their caring role. Couples consulting sessions, social activities and excursions also help people to enjoy life together.
To help us ensure the success and sustainability of meeting centres in Liverpool, we need experienced members of the public to join our Board. We are particularly keen to recruit members from Liverpool who have one or more of the following skills:
• Experience of living with dementia or caring for a person with dementia.
• Expertise in finance, funding or business development.
We are inviting trustees to initially act as a shadow board for the first 6-12mths but could commit for an additional 1-2 years. Board meetings will be held bi-monthly initially and then may shift to quarterly.
The Board will be responsible for setting the strategy and policies of Liverpool Meeting Centres. They will also be responsible for guiding and supporting the MC manager and staff.
To find out more about joining the Board, and express your interest please contact Ruth Eley by emailing lpoolmcproject@btinternet.com
