Al-Hasaniya Moroccan Women’s Centre has been supporting Arabic-speaking women and their families in the community for over 35 years. We have developed and maintain strong partnerships with numerous local services and organisations.
We are looking for a new Treasurer to support our Board with their expertise in finance -could this be you?
What will you be doing?
As our Treasurer, you will help us to maintain an overview of our charity's financial affairs. You will ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and report to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a female finance professional, ideally with knowledge of charity finance or an enthusiasm to learn. They should be a clear communicator with the ability to bring the financial information alive to non-finance specialists.
Candidates should ideally have an interest in the issues of the Moroccan and Arabic-speaking community in London, particularly women survivors of domestic violence.
On this occasion the post is open to women only. We encourage and welcome applications from women of all backgrounds. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010).
What difference will you make?
We are a small but impactful project aiming to influence policy and change. Volunteers are extremely important to our work and team. We are excited to find the passionate and committed people to join our Board and you will feel welcome and supported. You will have an opportunity to have a profound impact on our work.
Time commitment
Board meetings take place every 6 weeks and AGM. This role will require about one to two hours per calendar month.
