About Us

Maestro & Hunter is a football club with a social mission.

We aim to transform the lives of young people using sport as a tool. We hope to offer so much more than just football, the end goal is for the club to become a resource for the community, offering support, opportunity & connectivity. 

Our vision is to-

  • Help tackle sport inequalities by providing free to low cost club membership for young people from low income families 
  • Help young people change their lives through football, teaching life skills, building confidence, improve health & wellbeing and modify behaviour related issues
  • Build on the strengths of young people from an early age, encouraging young volunteers and leadership positions 
  • Widen the career prospects of young people 
  • Offer support and information on specialist services to help reduce health and social inequalities

What we are a looking for

A lovely finance specialist to take on the role as Treasurer to help form our Trustee Board


The Treasurer will oversee the income and expenditures of our organisation. Duties will include managing cash flow, assessing financial risk and safeguarding the organisations financial wellbeing.

Person Specification


  • Passion for people and helping communities better their wellbeing 
  • Willingness to work with a start up organisation, understanding that not everything will be perfect straight away!
  • Significant accounting experience and demonstrable commercial awareness.
  • Knowledge of or a willingness to learn charity SORP and impending changes.
  •  Liaising with and supporting the CEO and Finance team as required
  • Chairing our Finance Sub Committee (once developed) and providing updates to the board; keeping the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities
  •  Ensuring that the Charity’s financial accounts are prepared in a suitable format compliant with legal, accounting and Charity Commission requirements, and liaising with the independent examiner
  • Competent use of IT skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders in a simple and compelling manner.
  • Analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgement.
  • Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
  • Good communication and leadership skills


  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other CCAB Recognised Body).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of charity fundraising and finance practices.
  • A team-oriented approach to problem solving and to management.
  • A love for football!

Time, Commitment and Location

The Charity Commission advises a trustee serve for a term of 3-4 years (to be discussed)

The Board will meet between 1-4 times a year and can operate on a hybrid basis

In the beginning, there maybe a need to have more frequent informal conversations
