Would you like to be part of a board for a progressive social care provider supporting people with learning disabilities?

Financial Specialist Board Member Vacancy

PBS4 is a non-profit social enterprise providing supported living/social care for people with learning disabilities. We specialise in supporting people with learning disabilities described as having challenging behaviours.

The organisation was established in October 2014 and began trading in April 2015. At present we support 39 people with complex needs and employ over 200 employees. Our base is in Southampton and we operate in Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Somerset.

We are looking for new volunteers to be part of our established advisory board. The Board meets quarterly to review and give constructive comments on progress and support the direction of the organisation. There is also an annual Board Away Day and we ask Board Members to support what they can in between these meetings with advice, sharing information, and promoting the organisation.

We are looking for someone with specialist knowledge about financial strategic planning and operational management coupled with a passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to join our Board. The ideal candidate will be aware of the financial challenges that may arise in local authority and NHS commissioning supporting people with learning disabilities and finance management in a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. However, we would be willing to consider people with financial expertise who do not have these experiences but are keen to find out more.
