Job Details

Bath Cats and Dogs Home (RSPCA Bath and District Branch, Registered Charity Number 205594) is currently recruiting for new Trustees to help provide governance and guardianship to a truly unique charity. We are also looking for a new Trustee who can take on the office of Secretary.

The Bath and District Branch is one of the branches of the RSPCA, operating as an independent registered charity looking after animals in our local area.  We are known as Bath Cats and Dogs Home and the main aim of our branch is the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of companion animals. We support the National Society’s inspectors with their work by caring for cats and dogs they bring to us. And we are responsible for helping stray animals reunite with their families. Our outreach and education work supports pets owned by vulnerable or marginalised groups.

We are looking for people who have a real passion for animal welfare and understand and appreciate our core purpose and strategy and who will bring a broad range of experience. Whilst knowledge of the charity sector would be an advantage, it is not essential.

We are keen to expand the diversity of our board to better reflect the community in which we work. Therefore, applications from young people and those from the widest range of cultural and social backgrounds would be especially welcome.

Having reviewed the current skills and experience of the board we would be keen to hear from people with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Animal welfare and behaviour, including those with a veterinary background HR Finance Legal Governance Fundraising

We are seeking new Trustees who are engaged, motivated and collaborative to join our Trustee Board.  As a Trustee, you will ensure that Bath Cats and Dogs Home has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction to achieve its charitable ambitions. You will be committed to delivering meaningful outcomes for animal welfare via our rescue and rehoming work at the centre and our education and outreach work in our communities.

You will bring integrity, strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and a willingness to learn.

Applicants will need to be 18 years old or over.
