Chair of Trustees

The London Library is seeking candidates to take forward the role of Chair of the Board to ensure the effective governance and strategic development of the Library. He or she will also act as a champion in raising awareness of the Library and promoting its work.

This is an exciting time to join The London Library Trustee Board. We are aiming to make the Library much more widely known and to share our incredible collection and all the other benefits of Library membership with as many people as possible. At the same time, we want to ensure the financial sustainability of the Library so that we can continue to inspire and support many future generations of readers, writers and thinkers.

We are keen to hear from candidates who have a good understanding of governance gained in a non-executive or charity trustee role and with experience of chairing a board, committee or other senior meeting. Candidates should also have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills that encourage collaboration, participation and consensus-building. Overall, the successful candidate will need to be an enthusiastic ambassador for the Library and have the necessary time and commitment to fulfil the duties of Chair and Trustee.
