We are Outstanding primary school looking for committed independent governor who has a Finance background to join our governing body and be a member of our Finance Audit and Resources committee.  The right individual will have an interest in giving back to the local community and can share their viewpoints, experience, expertise, skills, and fresh ideas to enhance the opportunities for our children and families.   

About the school

The primary school is a mixed community school inOrpington, located in the London Borough of Bromley. We are currently a Single Academy Trust with over 700 pupilsfrom Reception to Year 6.  We are committed to ensuring that all pupils at the school is well equipped with the knowledge and skills required to start the next stage of their educational journey.

Your opportunity

We offer relevant training to aid your development on the governing body and this opportunity will allow you to work in a strategic capacity to support the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.  As a governor you will contribute to and monitor the school’s development plan, which is focused on the key improvement priorities for the school. 

What we are looking for

We are looking for somebody who:

• is a finance professional either by qualification or experience or in the final stages of training,

• thinks strategically, and is able to contribute to the development of the school’s priorities,

• is able to listen, reflect and learn from a range of viewpoints

• is able to establish clear expectations for school leaders

• has the ability to analyse and interpret data and statistics

• has the confidence to ask questions and challenge school leaders in an appropriate way

Being a member of the Finance Audit and Resources Committee is a rewarding one, where you will gain insight into the workings of our schools and play a part in improving outcomes for every pupil.
