Our supporters, trustees and volunteers play a vital role in making sure that British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is the voice of dyslexic people. Established in 1972, we are a membership organisation working to achieve a dyslexia-friendly society for all.
The BDA is looking for supporters with business or management experience, willing to serve as a director of BDA (Initiatives) Limited (BDAi). This is a wholly owned subsidiary of BDA, set up to make income which in turn is gifted to the charity.
The directors oversee the overall management and administration of the company. They also ensure that BDAi has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with the vision of the BDA group.
We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. A background in a commercial role, or experience of specialist skills such as HR or Legal, would be particularly welcome.
The time commitment would be about 4 days per year. This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
