Chair of Finance Committee (Trustee)

Bristol Charities is a long standing renowned charity in Bristol, UK. We are a registered provider of Social Housing, with four housing schemes across the region. Alongside this, the Charity delivers a grants programme which distributed c. £320k per annum in grants to individuals and organisations in the city.

The Charity is at a stage of significant change and growth with ambitious plans for a further mixed-use development at our new site in Fishponds, Bristol. We are also about to embark on a project to reimagine and revitalise our Community Transformation work.

We are seeking a new Trustee to Chair our Assets & Finance Committee. We are seeking candidates that demonstrate:

• Strong experience of working in or closely with the finance functions of large or complex organisations.
• Experience of working on or directly with boards of Trustees or Non-Executive Directors.
• An affinity with the mission and charitable objectives of Bristol Charities.
• A keen interest in the civic and socio-economic life of the city of Bristol and its residents.

The Board meets four times a year with its Assets & Finance Committee meeting a further four times per year. The work of the Board is supported by other Committees and advisory groups which there will be the opportunity to join, but not the obligation.
