Role summary
The overall role of the Finance Trustee is to maintain an overview of the organisation's affairs, ensuring its financial viability and ensuring that proper financial records and procedures are maintained. It is an aspiration that the Finance Trustee would also act as the Honorary Treasurer. Our Finance Trustee will play a vital role as part of our Board of Trustees, supporting Make Some Noise’s governance and providing financial oversight and strategic direction, helping Make Some Noise in its mission to reach more children and young people and families than ever to help unlock their extraordinary potential.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a person with a finance background to join our friendly and engaged Board of Trustees and take an active part in the financial decision-making.
The Board of Trustees would value your insight and support in providing financial oversight for the charity.
The Finance Trustee would have the following:
- Professional financial or accountancy qualifications or experience Lived experience which can help you understand the importance of the work we do. Experience of working within the charity sector and funding (Desirable) An understanding of commissioning and the community music sector (Desirable) An understanding of Safeguarding children and young people (Desirable)
Here at Make Some Noise we recognise there is often an imbalance within the arts sector and we try to do our bit to redress this imbalance recognising the positive value of diversity and the promotion of equality.
We aim at all times to recruit the person who is most suited to the role and welcome applications from people from all backgrounds. We are especially keen to hear from individuals from less advantaged socio-economic backgrounds and under 40.
Time commitment
Quarterly Board meetings, including an AGM, plus four Finance and Business Planning Sub-Group meetings and liaise with the CEO prior to these meetings.
