Following the growth of the Parish Giving Scheme, the Board of Trustees is recruiting a new Trustee in the role of Treasurer. This is a significantly transformational time for PGS, and we are looking for someone who can provide strategic insight and governance throughout the organisation’s growth and the technological advancements planned.
Principle Responsibilities
- Support trustees with their responsibility for keeping proper accounting records
- Reviewing the charity’s financial performance and providing scrutiny/challenge over the information presented by management
- Drawing up or reviewing policies for finance and investment to help safeguard and best utilise the charity’s assets and resources
- Ensuring that the charity has robust and effective financial controls in place
- Liaising with finance staff and with the charity’s independent examiner or auditor
- Reporting on financial matters to the trustees and members
- Acting as the Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee
- Provide guidance and support in the development of ongoing business development plans to ensure a sustainable future for the charity
- Provide support and review of the annual budget development
Person Requirements
- Appropriate financial qualifications and experience
- Record of maintaining appropriate CPD and commitment to continue personal development within the financial sector
- Able to attend Trustee meetings (4 per year) and Chair Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (minimum of 4 remote meetings per year)
