Job Details

The British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education (BAC) seeks to appoint an expert non-trustee member of the Audit Committee.
The Audit Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Trustees (the Council) and reports to the Council regularly. It is chaired by the honorary treasurer and includes three other trustees. The Committee has the council’s authority to monitor BAC’s financial performance and that it is keeping to all legislation and regulations that apply. We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with at least 3 years of professional experience to join the Audit Committee as a non-trustee member. Ideally you will also have experience of charity governance and/or in the education and training industry.


Location: The Audit Committee ordinarily meets online. The head office is based in London.
Time commitment: The Committee meet online three times a year with each meeting typically lasting one to two hours. You may from time to time be invited to occasional miscellaneous events and our Annual Stakeholder Event, but attendance is not mandatory.
Voluntary: While there is no renumeration for this role, reasonable expenses are paid.
