Founded in 2020 by the Audley Group Ltd, The Audley Foundation was set up to improve the lives of older people, particularly the lonely and less fortunate members of society. The Audley Foundation seeks to raise funds to support charitable organisations that enhance the lives of older people, particularly the lonely and less fortunate members of society. This is something the Audley Group and its Villages have always done but we have now created a dedicated platform to raise more monies for charity.

The Audley Foundation are looking for a trustee with financial expertise to join the board and maintain an overview of our financial affairs.

What will you be doing?

You will ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and report to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. Bookkeeping and preparation of the management and statutory accounts are outsourced.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a strategic thinker who will use their financial expertise to oversee The Audley Foundation’s financial health and play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets and liaising with auditors.

A knowledge of charity finance is important as your input will be critical as we mature as a charity and increase our activities.

A clear communicator with the ability to bring the financial information alive to non finance specialists.

What difference will you make?

We have a fantastic opportunity to build a charity that combines the resources of Audley Group with 17 retirement villages and over 500 employees, over 2000 owners in the villages and many other customer and corporate partners.

Establishing a charity at the start of a global pandemic was not part of our plan, but we went ahead anyway. It has been an interesting, if slightly bumpy, journey on occasion, but we have learnt a lot. One thing is clear – we need a Finance Trustee. Currently, we have access to an excellent finance person, but we need someone with experience of charities and ideally of SORP.

Time commitment

The trustees currently meet fortnightly via Teams. However, we are working towards meetings every 4-6 weeks as the trustee board grows.

Before you apply

The Reach Volunteering TrusteeWorks Team are supporting the Audley Foundation with their Board recruitment.

Please submit your CV along with a covering letter stating why you would like to apply to become a board member of the Audley Foundation and how your skills, abilities and experience would add value to the board.
