Our work focuses on relatively deprived coastal communities, and ways the arts, particularly Time and Tide Bells, can help develop community identity and explore the challenges of climate change and sea level rise.
Started in 2008, the evolving Time and Tide Bell project is based around the installation of large, purpose-designed bronze bells round the coast of the UK, ringing at high tide through the action of the waves. These stimulate a growing range of local projects, all connected to the environment, above all climate change.
Mission: to continue to draw the nation’s attention to sea level rise, and thereby to taking constructive action on climate change.
We are looking to expand our board with enthusiastic new trustees, with a lively concern about climate change, who have some of the following experience and skills:
– lived experience of the particular circumstances of coastal UK.
– work in the education sector
– engagement in practical elements of environmental and/or coastal protection
– engagement in other types of response to climate change
– finance and fundraising
Closing date: 30 May 2023
