St Christopher’s Fellowship, a leading charity for children and young people, are looking for an expert in finance and risk to join our Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) as a coopted member. Within the role you will help to oversee and scrutinize our financial systems and management, risk management, internal controls framework, external and internal audits and value for money arrangements.

Co-opted members of the Committee are not trustees and therefore do not have the same legal responsibilities and do not sit on the Council of Trustees. However our coopted members provide vital specialist expertise in to help the Committee fulfil their responsibilities.

We are seeking applications from those with the following skills and experiences:  Expert level of understanding of financial management ideally in the charity or social housing sector; An associateship or fellowship of CIMA, ACCA ICPFA, ACA or equivalent; A developed understanding of risk management including identifying mitigations for risks identified; Knowledge of reviewing internal controls including scrutinising the work of the internal auditors; Experience of monitoring the work of external and internal auditors; Understanding of the children’s social care sector and a commitment to the mission, vision and values of St Christopher’s. Previous experience of serving on a board either as a non-executive or executive director or as a trustee.

The ARC meets routinely three times a year on Wednesday evening starting at 4pm (with occasional additional meetings may be required).
