Join a dynamic team dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Dobermanns in need. Our thriving, creative charity is seeking an experienced and organised individual to take on the role of Treasurer. As a Trustee and Treasurer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our financial future and ensuring the success of our mission. This is a voluntary - unpaid position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor the financial administration of the charity, guiding decisions and acting as a voice of financial expertise. Collaborate with fellow Trustees to oversee internal management of accounts, presenting monthly financial statements to the board. Work closely with external auditors to prepare the charity's annual accounts and related board reports for submission to the Charity Commission. Reconcile day-to-day donations and handle general invoicing and payments. Participate in regular online trustee meetings and maintain electronic communication with Trustees and the Fundraising team. Gift Aid Management: Manage the Gift Aid process and submissions.

Desired Candidate Skills:

 

  • Knowledge and experience in accounting, financial management, analysis, and reporting. Experience in setting strategic goals in a business setting. Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise effectively. High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail. Strong initiative, excellent judgment, and discretion in handling confidential information. Proficiency with IT skills, online accountancy packages, and an understanding of Gift Aid. Prior knowledge of the charity sector or a willingness to familiarise yourself with it.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
