About Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice

At Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, we are here to enable those we support to enjoy life as children rather than as patients — and as families, not just as carers. Partnering with London NHS Trusts, we have built a home, a community and an expert team to make that difference.

We help babies, children and young people with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions and their families make the most of every day. Additionally, we support those who die young to do so in as much comfort as possible, surrounded by family.

Our expert staff and trained volunteers provide clinical, emotional and practical support for families across north and central London and Herts Valley. We carefully adapt our support for every child and offer it wherever it is required – whether in their home, their community or at our state-of-the-art children’s hospice building, The Ark, in Barnet.

At present, we care for over 350 children who live with 132 different conditions — 78% have a disability and 55% are below the age of five. No child or condition is too complex. Babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions can be in our care for many years before they die, or transition to adult services.

About the roles

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice has a strong and professional board of trustees who are involved in all aspects of governing the charity’s specialist palliative and holistic care.

This is an exciting time to join us as we look to recruit two new trustees to join our board. We are keen to seek candidates with current and relevant experience in fundraising and finance.

Who we are looking for

Our fundraising trustee will bring senior strategic fundraising experience, ideally in a charity setting with a national reach with a focus on individual giving, legacies and community fundraising.

Our finance trustee will be vital in ensuring accurate and sustainable finances so we can fulfil our strategic objectives. Ideally, you will be a finance professional with knowledge of charity finances and a background in audit or financial accounting — prior trustee experience is not essential.

For both roles, we are searching for candidates with inquiring minds who are flexible and open to learning and exploring new ideas. You will bring substantial experience in collaborative working and you will use your personal and professional experience to support us in making sound strategic decisions.
