TPP Recruitment is excited to be supporting Women in Prison (WIP) with the search for a new Trustee with fundraising experience to join their Board.
WIP is the only national women-led charity that exists to work with women - they campaign for a new system of justice, one that addresses the root causes of offending (including homelessness, harmful substance use, mental ill health and experience of poverty, trauma and abuse).
Their mission is to persuade policy makers to radically reduce the women’s prison population by demonstrating how a focus on human rights, social justice, health and investment in specialist community support services including women’s centres and providing in prison trauma informed holistic support it enables women to move forward with their lives.
Along with other trustees the Fundraising Trustee will give guidance to ensure WIP remain steadfast in their mission to support women. As a Board member you will have the opportunity to influence strategic policies, give guidance on fundraising diversification, oversee governance and contribute to growth and their continued success.
WIP support individual professional development, they are committed to a collaborative board where everyone is valued and feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas.
WIP are proud of the diversity of their board and want to continue to represent the diversity of women disproportionately affected by the criminal justice system. We are therefore keen to hear from women who have lived experience of the criminal justice system - either directly or indirectly – with support available from the WIP team to apply for a waiver from the Charity Commission if required.
In line with legal requirements and the nature of WIP’s work, this position is restricted to women only as a genuine occupational requirement
