TRUSTEE VACANCIES
The Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) is a well-established, award winning regional charity, renowned for its work in assisting refugees and migrants through crisis and disadvantage; we remove barriers to integration and help our clients to become equal citizens via a whole person approach to delivery of services. RMC operate across Birmingham and the Black Country, have a very broad remit and an extremely varied service user base.
RMC is seeking to appoint experienced people to join our Board of Trustees.
The ideal candidates would have considerable experience in similar roles, have in depth understanding of charity boards and governance and be sympathetic to our ethos and values.
For these non-remunerated, voluntary roles we would ask that you dedicate time to attend 7-8 board meetings annually. Occasionally there are also events, celebrations etc.
The key officers’ roles within the board are currently filled but vacancies for these roles may arise in the future.
We hope to receive applications from all walks of life and across RMC’s area of operation.
Please note that only shortlisted candidates would be contacted.
What are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have considerable experience of board membership either in the charity sector or similar roles in other sectors. Candidates should have in depth knowledge of governance related matters.
What difference will you make?
RMC has a very broad remit and provides vital support to thousands of refugees and migrants living in the West Midlands region. It currently has 5 offices across its area of operations, approx. 130 employees and dozens of volunteers.
As a trustee of RMC, you will be able to see rather clearly the impact RMC’s work makes in the lives of its beneficiaries. You will offer pragmatic and level-headed governance and overview to an established regional charity with a highly skilled and experienced management team and appropriate infrastructure in place.
