The Board is seeking to recruit a governor with substantial organisation experience.  The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • A successful career at a senior level in a medium or large organisation in either the public or private sector
  • Financially literate
  • An understanding of the need for clear vision, strategy, plans, motivation, governance and controls
  • An understanding of the importance of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Sufficient time to devote to Board and Committee work. The time commitment involves attendance at: Four Full Board Meetings per academic year, one Committee meeting per term, an annual strategy morning, a formal governor visit at least once a year and occasional attendance at school events.

 

  • Ideally living within a reasonably close distance of the school Candidates who live further from the school would need to be prepared to attend at least 50% of Board and Committee meetings in person, with attendance by zoom when in person attendance is not possible Have the enthusiasm and motivation to support the senior leadership team and contribute to the development and progression of the school
