The Shakespeare Hospice is based in Stratford upon Avon and offers services across South Warwickshire and the surrounding areas. We aim to ensure that every young person and adult living in our community with a life limiting illness, and those who matter to them, will be supported with the care and compassion they need.
We are looking for a new Trustee who shares a passion to serve our community and who can help us ensure that we are able to deliver our services today, tomorrow and for always. This is a voluntary role, and you will work with the Board, Executive and the Senior Management Team to ensure that we continue to deliver our much-needed services. Even in the current challenging environment we have continued to operate for the benefit of those in the community who need our support.
We are particularly interested to hear from people with accountancy qualifications. We would also value applications from individuals who have good community links in Stratford and the surrounding areas.
Our new Trustee should be able to demonstrate appropriate professional skills to provide oversight of the activities of the Hospice and offer challenge and support to the Senior Management Team. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an empathy with Hospice philosophy is essential.
All Trustees are required to attend 6 Board Meetings per annum, plus 2 strategic planning days and the AGM. You will also be expected to become a member of one or two of the Board subcommittees and attend regular meetings of that committee. This will include our Finance and Audit Committee (FAC), with a view to chairing this committee in the future. Trustees are encouraged to attend fundraising events throughout the year. In return you will be able to share your experience and expertise in driving forward a progressive charity and make a real contribution to your community.
