Board of Trustees - Treasurer

After18 is seeking enthusiastic new trustees to bring fresh knowledge and experience to our board in support of the work that we do. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the diverse and friendly Trustee Board of a growing and well-regarded refugee charity. 

We are currently recruiting a Treasurer to join our Board. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting or finance and a good understanding of financial management and reporting. We are especially interested to hear from those with their own lived experience of the refugee and asylum system.

We welcome applications from across the UK. Quarterly Trustee meetings take place in Leicester but can be joined online, although we do ask all Trustees to join our AGM in September in person.

ABOUT US

After18 is a small but ambitious charity based in Leicester since 2013. We support young refugees aged 13-25 to rebuild their lives here in the UK. We are led by the needs of the young people, which are in a constant state of change as geo-political situations around the world force them to move in order to seek safety.

We are called After18 because we recognise that a young person’s vulnerability and need for support does not end with childhood on their 18th birthday. We are a consistent point of information and support as they transition to adulthood.  

Each year through a specialised programme of educational and wellbeing activities we support over 200 young people in Leicester to move towards economic, social and mental wellbeing and to thrive as independent adults.
