As part of our Board of Trustees, your role will be to oversee the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity. You will use your knowledge, skills and experience to ensure the Macular Society achieves our charitable objectives and provide support and advice on matters that impact us.
As Treasurer you will help the Board of Trustees to carry out their financial responsibilities. This role requires you to understand and give strategic insight and oversight to the charities financial and executive team. You will also show effective leadership to ensure the board fulfils its duties for the sound financial health of the charity, securing our financial accountability and financial sustainability.
Many of our meetings are held virtually, however travel to either our head office in Andover or to London to attend in person meetings will be required for this role.
We envisage the time commitment for you to successfully contribute to this role being:
Approximately 17 days per year through:
- Attendance at four board meetings, one “away day” per year and preparatory work Support to one of our key committees with up to four meetings a year and preparatory work. Support to our finance team based at our Andover office Optional participation in any of our celebratory events or activities such as our annual conference, webinars, and additional training.
