Wild Arts, a music and opera charity, is looking for a volunteer Treasurer to help to oversee the charity's finances, working with the trustees, Lead Producer and bookkeeper, as it grows. Wild Arts puts on a summer opera (The Magic Flute in 24), Opera Evenings, the Roman River Music Festival, the Messiah and other concerts during the year. It also works with children as part of an active outreach programme. The charity's goal is to deliver sustainable, world-class music and opera for everyone.

The Treasurer will:

  • Report and advise trustees and the Lead Producer on financial management and reporting, controls and risk management
  • Review and maintain financial and risk management processes
  • Monitor financial administration and controls, specifically:
    • Reviewing bank reconciliation
    • Approving payment runs
    • Reviewing key payment and income reconciliations
    • Controlling restricted income and expenditure
    • Reviewing board reporting
  • Support the bookkeeper on technical charity, gift aid or accounting questions
  • Attend trustee meetings (4/year)
  • Lead Finance Group (6/year)
  • Liaise with Independent Examiner on accounts
