Educate Not Mutilate (CIO) is a new, London based charity playing an important role in bringing an end to Female Genital Mutilation and to improving the lives of women who have experienced it.

We deliver impactful and impassioned survivor-led education and training in schools and among safeguarding professionals including the police, midwives and health professionals.

Since becoming a charity in May 2023, we have educated over 6,000 people. In addition to training teachers and secondary school students, our vital work is helping to ensure women have access to appropriate healthcare, that legal instruments are used appropriately and that warning signs can be identified.

Feedback from a midwife who attended one or our survivor-led workshops: “I feel so much more confident at the prospect of supporting a female survivor in midwifery. You are so brave and inspiring. Thank you so much.”

We now need qualified financial professional who believes passionately in our work to join our board.
