The diverse skills and insights of our board members support the organisation to successfully navigate the challenges of an ever-evolving education landscape. We are seeking a qualified accountant to either join our board as a governor or to become an independent co-opted member of our audit committee. A commitment to effective governance is essential and onboarding and ongoing support is provided.
The board sets strategy, scrutinises performance and ensures the college meets its regulatory and funding requirements and maintains its financial sustainability. We oversee an organisation with an annual income of c£30m, an extensive estate with specialist facilities and residential accommodation, and a diverse curriculum offer for around 5,000 students from a wide geographical area. .
This role of college governor offers a stimulating and rewarding opportunity to play a pivotal part in guiding our future success, fostering innovation, and ensuring our commitment to inclusivity and sustainability. The time commitment is around 60 hours per year for a governor or 15 hours per year for an audit committee co-opted member.
The college group includes the specialist land-based Sparsholt campus (near Winchester), the community tertiary Andover campus, and the specialist higher education provider University Centre Sparsholt, together with three wholly owned subsidiary companies.
