Where will they be working?

What are we looking for?

The University of Sussex Students’ Union is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to become a Non-Executive Director of the Trading Company, helping to manage the strategy and finances of the organisation, whilst providing a solid structure of expertise, experience and support to the elected student officers to ensure that the Students’ Union will be able to deliver positive change for its members year after year.

As a Director, you will be required to..

  • Attend five Company Board meetings a year and the same number of subcommittee meetings, as well as one or more training/induction sessions
  • Be available for meetings between 10.00 and 18.00
  • Prepare for Board meetings by reading through materials and Board papers beforehand
  • Keep in regular contact with the other Directors and provide feedback and input on issues when they arise
  • Dates for Company Board in 2023/4 are 30 August, 29 November, 6 March, 9 May and 10 July (Joint Board)
