The Francis Bacon Society is offering a position as an accountant but would welcome interest from a suitable candidate to become a Trustee of the Charity in the role of Treasurer.

The role would include maintaining and preparing financial accounts for our charitable organization registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Key responsibilities would include compliance with regulatory standards, specifically year-end reporting but also with regard to Companies House filing. There may also be periodic meetings with the Principal and Trustees. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of our organization and adhering to necessary legal requirements.

The Francis Bacon Society was established in 1886 and is one of the oldest literary societies in the UK. We are a relatively small charity with 5 Trustees/Members of the Council and a Principal. The work involved would not be overly time consuming or arduous but would be hugely beneficial to the smooth running and growth of our literary society. A love of history and literature would be welcome but not essential.
