Guy’s and St Thomas’ Kidney Patients Association (GSTTKPA) is a registered charity founded in 1980 which aims to support kidney patients and kidney research at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.  GSTTKPA helps patients by for example funding grants for social events in the dialysis units, funding attendance at the Transplant Games, providing grants to support kidney research activities at the Hospital and promoting organ donation.

The Treasurer is a key role supporting Trustees and Committee Members by ensuring the finances of the KPA are properly managed in line with Charity Commission reporting, accounting and financial governance requirements.

We are seeking a qualified accountant with charity experience to be our Treasurer and a Trustee.  The role combines giving strategic financial advice, financial reporting, alongside fulfilling hands on financial activities.  You will be expected to work independently, keeping the accounting records, preparing budgets, management and statutory accounts for the charity.   The Charity has a number of restricted funds so it is essential that you have experience of SORP charity accounting requirements.  You must have great communication skills to be able to communicate the financial position and risks clearly and simply to the committee and trustees and at the AGM.  As a Trustee you must be proactive and contribute to the strategy and management of the KPA.

The role requires someone with commitment, enthusiasm and a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with being a kidney patient.  You will have a commitment to equality; celebrate diversity and be responsive to the needs of different groups and individuals within society.
