Now in its fortieth year of choral excellence, Farnham Youth Choir has developed into a family of choirs that supports children to achieve extraordinary things through a shared love of singing. FYC has won international competitions from the World Choir Games (2006, China) to double gold medals at recent European Choir Games (2015, Germany and 2019, Sweden). But every bit as important as this are the local performances that underpin FYC’s year, from the Spire Church in Farnham to the Menuhin Hall in Cobham. We have a well-supported Bursary Fund to support singers for whom membership would otherwise be difficult. Singers range in age from 7-18 across three choirs: Trainers, Juniors and the Senior Choir.

The trustees are active volunteers, supporting the choir with their time and skills. Our current treasurer would like to move into a role as co-chair, using her skills for more strategic projects. We need a Treasurer to oversee the finance function, produce budgets and annual accounts. Our Treasurer is currently supported by a membership secretary who reconciles subscription payments and follows these up.

Our board meets at least four times per year, mostly online, but at least once in person, in the summer term. We would hope to see the successful applicant at concerts, too!

FYC is committed to promoting equality and celebrating diversity and should you need any assistance or adaptation in order to apply for this role, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
