Job Details

Norfolk Ornithologists’ Association (NOA) is a small environmental charity with two full-time employees, based in Holme-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. The NOA runs Holme Bird Observatory and several other small wildlife reserves.

NOA is looking for a new trustee to join our existing council, and to take over as Treasurer of the organisation in due course. The role involves being an active committee member by attending council meetings in north-west Norfolk about ten times per year, and by taking responsibility for all aspects of the NOA’s finances. The Association employs a firm of bookkeepers to assist with day-to-day financial activities.

The successful candidate would be expected have experience in the handling of financial data, and to have good management, organisational and interpersonal skills.

This a key role within the organisation, and the position would also involve liaising with the Chairman, other trustees and the NOA Warden regarding broader aspects of the charity’s activities, including governance, fundraising and promotion.

We envisage that the successful candidate will be supportive of the aims of the Association, and will have a minimum of eight hours per week available to undertake this volunteer role, which can largely be done from home.

If you think you might be interested, please contact the NOA Chairman, Dr Steve Newman,
