Want to help restore rivers in Wales? If you have an interest in the health of rivers or the wider environment, we would like to hear from you!

Afonydd Cymru (AC) was formed in 2008 to expand and represent the six flourishing Rivers Trusts in Wales. A small, dynamic organisation, AC acts as an umbrella body for the movement, influencing and challenging relevant legislation, policy and practice in order to protect Wales’s freshwater environment.

However, never in recent memory have our rivers been under greater pressure from pollution, climate change and increasing development. This makes our work even more vital and we are seeking up to four new Board members to help us continue and expand our crucial work. We will consider all applications but experience of finance and accounting, fund raising, partnership working, communications and farming would be particularly relevant. The ability to speak Welsh would also be desirable but is not essential.

As a Charity, Board members are not remunerated but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. The Board meets 4 times a year, twice in person at various locations around Wales.

If you are interested please submit a short resume by email of your past roles and relevant experience, and what you consider that you could bring to the AC Board.

The deadline for submissions is 15th November 2024 with interviews held in early December.
