Cambridge Sustainable Food (CSF) CIC (Community Interest Company)

CSF Finance director vacancy

We wish to appoint a finance director, with a passion for sustainability and experience in not-for-profit finance to take a lead on the CIC’s finances.

The role

CSF is keen to recruit a finance director to our board of directors, where the successful applicant can play a vital role in shaping the future of this dynamic and impactful organisation.

The role will include supporting the staff who deal with the day-to-day record keeping, and preparing or having oversight of the budgets, cash flows, statutory accounts and taxation for CICs.

As the leading organisation for the Sustainable Food partnership in Cambridge you will be joining a board with a clear mission: to maintain Cambridge's status as a national leader in food sustainability.

In recent years, we have almost tripled in size and are looking for dynamic, engaged and committed people with relevant experience to join us in creating a diverse and sustainable business model for the future. We are presently going through an exciting period of change and are considering ways to expand our organisation into new areas and new ventures.

Who are we looking for?

We are particularly interested in applications from those with financial experience in the not-for-profit finance area. In addition, experience in at least one of the following areas would be useful:  fundraising, business development, HR, project management, or working with volunteers.

We advocate for and promote a diverse food system AND especially welcome those from diverse backgrounds.

Your Commitment

 - review and help maintain an appropriate finance system

 - attend directors’ meetings (usually monthly, mix of online and in person)

 - contribute to the strategic direction of CSF CIC and the development of governance and business structures

 - take an interest in ongoing issues and debates about sustainable food, climate change and food inequality and advocate for a diverse food system with fair and equal access for all

 - contribute to the management of the organisation (eg helping to draft reports or policies or support staff appraisal).

The position of director is a voluntary one, but you would be able to claim out-of-pocket expenses.

For an informal chat about this position please contact Tina Riches, one of our current directors, on 07799 068 056, if you are interested.
