Talbot Village Trust aims to strengthen communities in South East Dorset. Become a Trustee to help them achieve their brave, bold and ambitious plans.

Applications close at 9 a.m. Monday 20th January.

Talbot Village Trust is seeking new Trustees who will help it achieve a step change in its impact on strengthening communities across South East Dorset. Underpinned by its founders’ powerful social purpose, Talbot Village Trust provides funding, education support, accommodation, green spaces, and sustainability, collaborating with partners to deliver change that matters. It has over 300 acres of land and properties and a significant endowment fund.

About the role

As a Trustee of the Talbot Village Trust, you’ll provide oversight, governance, and leadership to the charity at an exciting time, helping us deliver a transformational step forward in our activities and impact. You’ll play a role in supporting our Talbot Quarter development, implementing our new strategy, and shaping our future. You’ll work with a progressive board and capable team to drive positive social change for communities across South East Dorset.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for three Trustees with strategic experience and strong business skills who can help support the mission, vision, strategy and transformational change in our activities and impact.

We are particularly interested in people who can bring professional experience within one of the following areas:

  • Land stewardship, planning and development covering real estate policy and regulation.
  • Finance and investment management.
  • Grant-giving and social reform.

Overall, we want our Trustees to be passionate and committed to our mission and bring a range of skills, abilities and personal qualities.

Our Board of Trustees also review grant applications and ensure that our funds and resources support a broad range of local causes, securing prosperity and opportunity for existing and future generations. United by a common goal to transform lives for the better, each Trustee gives their time free of charge, without financial benefit.

We understand the importance and value of diversity, inclusion, and belonging, and we are keen to reflect this on our Board. With this recruitment, we are actively looking to enhance the diversity of our Trustees.
