The Friendly Almshouses charity in South London are looking to appoint a new voluntary treasurer to the board of trustees.

The voluntary treasurer ensures that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are in place. They are responsible for overseeing the preparation of annual accounts and budget forecasts, as well as serving as a key decision-maker on financial matters by offering financial insights and guidance around risks, opportunities and our long-term financial needs.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A strong background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (formal qualifications are ideal but not necessary)
     
  • A collaborative leadership style, with the ability effectively engage board members and other stakeholders
     
  • Experience or familiarity with almshouses, social/community housing and/or small business practices
     
  • A genuine interest in the community housing sector and the wellbeing of women, with a readiness to promote TFA’s mission and values
