Access – The Foundation for Social Investment are working to change the way charities and social enterprises are supported to grow their own income, and how social investment works, so that more organisations can build their resilience over the long term. 

Unremunerated – reasonable expenses reimbursed
Time Commitment – approx. one day per month

Access are at an exciting time of their journey. In their tenth year of operation, they have a proven track record of widening access to finance for smaller charities and social enterprises through their blended finance programmes. These represent around a third of all social investment deals done each year and are heavily skewed to investing in more deprived communities. They are also supporting hundreds of organisations to develop their enterprise activity and overcome barriers to accessing investment, growing the field of enterprise grant making.

Access are now looking for new Trustees to join a high-calibre Board. Access are particularly interested in candidates who can bring skills/experience in one or more of the following areas;

• Experience of leading a community based charity or social enterprise, the kind of organisation which Access exists to support
• Experience of mainstream investment and fundraising from mainstream investors
• Experience of supporting financial strategy as a non-exec
• Experience of supporting policy and advocacy
